AEPS-GROUP series TESAV(H) with AC and/or DC input provide a separate input to feed AC voltage to internally placed bridge rectifier, which output is connected to internal DC/DC converter phase, which input is also a secondary (DC) input of the whole unit. To filter rectified voltage this DC input is used to connect external electrolytic capacitor. In such connection the power supply unit becomes an AC/DC unit with external filtering capacitor. The advantage of such solution is the ability to place electrolytic capacitor in the “cold” part of the customer’s equipment, while the unit operates at much higher temperature than the external capacitor is allowed to operate at. This method provides increased MTBF which in turn increases unit reliability. Simplified units TESH are made from TESAV unit by removing AC input and internal bridge rectifier, which increases unit efficiency when using low-voltage input range.
The series consists of TESAV(H)100, TESAV(H)200, TESAV(H)500 and TESAV(H)1000. The numbers state maximal output power in Watts, however to ensure long-term reliability the loading coefficient should be chosen from 0.7-0.8. Therefore, the series units are optimized for average power of 80, 150, 400 and 800 W correspondingly. TESAV units are designed for the specialized AC input ranges: 115 (80-140 VAC) and 230 (176-264 VAC). TESH modification operates with specialized DC input ranges: 115 (82-198 VDC), 150W (110-375 VDC) and 230 (175-372) VDC.
Electrical features: TESAV(H) series utilizes output synchronous rectification, which significantly increases their efficiency up to 93 %. The units include full set of service functions, up to providing active current sharing parallel operation. Galvanic isolation of outputs in two-channel variants, which broadens the functional application in creating equipment, with various connections of output channels. Connecting chosen capacitor to DC inputs allows creating simplest function of uninterruptible power supply.
Constructional features: TESAV(H) units are made in small dimensions and planar design. Together with high efficiency the units achieve high power density of 32 to 55 W/inch3. Units cases include stiffening ribs and also serve for conductive cooling. Considering that all components significant in weight are connected to the base and submerged in heat-transferring potting – resistance to and durability against mechanical stress are quite high.
Increased efficiency allows to achieve operating case temperature range of -40…+110 °С. On request it’s possible to produce models with operating case temperature range of -60…+110 °С!
TESAV(H) units are most utilized in application fields 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 – for aerial objects at heights up to 15 km in unsealed and unprotected spaces: planes, drones, helicopters, hot air balloons and gliding devices, meteoprobes. Also applied in all types of land transport – railway locomotives and wagons, cars, tracked vehicles. Units are also an optimal fit for telecom equipment, mining, supercomputers, radars and informational displays and screens, located in outdoors conditions. At the same time, TESAV(H) units operate in Arctic and Antarctica, in mountains at all heights and in cold or hot deserts etc.
